This morning, on March 9, 2024, the luxury cruise ship Thang Long carried 1,017 passengers on its first voyage to Con Dao, departing from Cau Da Port, Vung Tau City.
The high-speed Thang Long passenger super yacht measures up to 77.46 meters in length, comprising 4 decks (2 decks of Eco cabins, 1 deck of VIP cabins, and the top deck specifically designated for “Café Roof Top”).
The ship has a total capacity of up to 1,017 passengers, powered by 3 Rolls-Royce MTU engines, the world’s leading engines, with a combined output of 11,580 horsepower, fuel-efficient, and environmentally friendly. The hull of the ship is made of aluminum alloy imported from Italy, allowing the vessel to reach speeds of up to 30 nautical miles per hour, reducing the travel time from Vung Tau to Con Dao to only about 4 hours.
The ship is specially designed for the Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao route and vice versa. This is a long-haul route, heavily influenced by the Northeast and Southwest monsoons, with ships having to navigate against and along the waves, making it very rare for high-speed vessels to operate on this route.
